Genesis 1:1

In the beginning, God was there. I was not. You were not. God was. He spoke into existence the world. He created the sun, moon, stars, and galaxies. God created the oceans and He divided the day and night. God also created you and me. He formed us in His own image and breathed His breath of life into us, so that we may live. God created everything. I did not. You did not. God did.

So, here is a question. If God created the world and made us, then who should we listen to when it comes to creation, choices, heaven, hell, salvation, sin, and death? That is easy. We listen to God and His Word, the Bible. We play by His rules. He is a powerful and mighty God.

Genesis 3:6-7

As a result of Adam and Eve’s disobedience, sin entered the world. We are born into this world as sinners. We have inherited a sinful nature. Since you and I have a sinful nature, we will die one day. Once we die, there are only two possible destinations, Heaven or Hell.

Romans 3:23

Everyone has sinned. I have sinned and you have sinned. Sin is anything that displeases God. We may die because of some disease, accident, or in some other manner but ultimately we will die because we are sinners. God hates sin. He despises it. You and I deserve hell. God’s standard is perfection. We have no possible way of meeting God’s requirement of perfection on our own. Regardless of our popularity, fame, fortune, or status, we are unable to reach perfection on our own. Don’t be discouraged though. Someone came and met God’s standard of perfection.

Romans 5:8

God demonstrated how much He loves you by sending Jesus Christ to this world. Jesus left all the splendor of heaven and lived on this earth. He lived a perfect, sinless life. He was eventually arrested, beaten, spit upon, whipped, experienced nails hammered into his hands and feet, a crown of thorns shoved on His head, and a spear stuck in his side. He bled, agonized, and died for you. That is right. Jesus took my sin and your sin on himself and died. How amazing is that!

Romans 6:23

Like I said previously, we will eventually die because of sin. Unless we are in the generation of Christ’s return, you and I will experience a physical death. By the way, there are two types of death.

  1. (1.) Physical death
  2. This is what we will all experience. These bodies of ours will be placed in the ground one day and turn back to dirt. That is the physical death.

  3. (2.) Spiritual death
  4. This is when a person physically dies without placing their faith and trust in Jesus Christ only for his/her salvation. When a person dies without knowing Christ, he/she will spend eternity in what the Bible calls hell. Hell is a real, literal place.

This verse, however, does not stop with the second death. There is great news ahead. You do not have to worry about dying a spiritual death. If you place your faith in Jesus Christ and surrender your heart and life to Him, He will forgive you and save you. Jesus is your only hope. He is the answer you have been looking for. Through a heart of repentance and surrendering your life to Christ, you will receive the free gift of God which is Jesus Christ and His eternal salvation. No matter what you have done in your life, Jesus will forgive you and save you. That is right. No matter what you have done. If you will repent and come to Jesus, He will save you. So, you are asking the question, “How do I trust in Christ? How do I repent?”

Romans 10:9-10

If you will confess and believe in your heart the gospel message, you will be forgiven and saved. Jesus died on a cross, was buried, and He rose again. Jesus defeated death, sin, and hell. He is alive and well. If you will trust Him and surrender your life to Him, you can have salvation.

Do you believe in Jesus? I am not talking about an “earthly” belief. Remember, even the demon and the devil believes in Jesus. When the Bible mentions belief, God is speaking of a total surrender of your life to Christ and His ways, not your ways and desires. Are you willing to deny yourself and give every part of your life to Christ? Are you willing to sacrifice your old life? Are you willing to follow hard after Jesus Christ?

Through the help of the Holy Spirit, you can! You need to count the cost. Are you willing to place your faith in Christ and begin living for Him today? This is serious business. This is not for wimps. This is only for those who seriously desire a personal relationship with Christ. Are you ready? Jesus is the perfection that you need. You cannot do it alone. God will look through the eyes of His Son Jesus Christ and see you as He sees His Son, perfect and holy. If you are, then pray something like this. Remember, you have to believe with all of your heart what you are saying to Jesus. If you are sincere and you really meant this, pray something like this.

Dear Jesus, I know that I am sinner. I know that I have messed up and I need you. Lord, I trust in your death, burial, and resurrection. I repent (Turn Away) of all my sins and ask you to please forgive me of all of them. Cleanse me. Purify me. Lord, I ask that you come into my life and save me. I completely surrender my life to you. I will go anywhere You want me to go. I will say anything You want me to say. I will do anything You want me to do. Guide me and teach me Your ways. Help me to live for You from now until I take my last breathe on this earth. Thank you for saving me and giving me a home in heaven when I die. Use me, oh God. Use me. I pray this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Romans 10:11

Congratulations! Remember, anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. If you are reading this right now and you did not say that prayer, please know that Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life no matter what you have done, where you have gone, or what you have said. God loves you.
