A Family’s Dedication to Those Who Have Never Heard

Growing up in a small community in Northeastern Arkansas, few would have projected the difference one family could make in the lives of so many who live on the other side of the world. Jon Moody developed a passion for Law Enforcement and soon found himself as a Deputy Sherriff in Clay County, AR. His wife, Teresa, held a position at the County Courthouse as a Tax Collector. They also have a young daughter, Autumn, and little did she know, at that time, that she would grow up in a completely different culture, language, and land.

As Jacob wrestled with God, Jon experienced a similar situation that lasted three months. The Lord confirmed His calling during this circumstance and Jon completely surrendered his life to the plans that God had for him and his family. During this time, the Lord also laid a verse on Jon’s heart. Romans 15:20, “And thus I aspired to preach the gospel, not where Christ was already named, so that I would not build on another man’s foundation.”

The Moody’s resigned from their careers, sold their possessions, and transitioned to Kansas City, MO to attend Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, to help equip them for missions around the world. On October 17, 2008, their family moved to West Africa, through the International Mission Board, to reach the natives with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Over the next four years, the Moody’s established relationships, learned different languages, gained knowledge of the culture and lifestyles, and experienced the everyday life of sharing the gospel in a new environment. These highlights served as a foundation for something even greater to come.

While living in Africa, Jon felt the specific call to begin his own ministry that corresponded with that verse the Lord placed on his heart many years ago. (Romans 15:20) Last year, the Moody’s returned to America in order to begin this new chapter of ministry. Over the previous twelve months, Jon has worked diligently on this new ministry and has launched E-Tech Missions. Allow me to explain to you a little more about this ministry and specifically how you can be involved.

E-Tech Missions exists as an advocate for the unreached and unengaged people groups in our world today. Using audio, visual, and solar technology, we go to the hard places and introduce Jesus in a language they understand. Their motto is: Unreached, Unengaged, Unacceptable.

Did you know that there are approximately 3000 unreached people groups? These individuals have never even heard the gospel once. Time is running out. We must redeem the time and reach as many people for Christ as possible. E-Tech Missions is doing just that. They take audio Bibles into these countries where people have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ. For the first time, these people, whom God created and loves, are hearing the gospel in their heart language through E-Tech Missions. How powerful!

So, how can you get involved? I’m glad that you asked. Below, I will explain five ways that you can help E-Tech Missions reach people who have never heard:

As you navigate through the website above, please keep this passage of Scripture in mind, “How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News of good things!’” – Romans 10:14-15
